Beauty Haul - Bourjois, Rimmel, Garnier

I bought some cool products last week and it's time to show them to you. I bought all of them at the DM in Excalibur City which has brands we don't have.

When I saw this it blew me away. A Garnier micellar make up remover!! This might be a substitute for the famous one from Bioderma. I haven't seen this in Austria, who knows when or if we get it, so I had to buy it.

Sadly, there's not one words on it in a language I know. The saleswoman couldn't really speak English or German and even though my husbands mother is from Hungary and he was raised bilingual he wasn't that helpful either...

Maybe some of you can help translating. Oh, it was about 6,70€ if you are curious.

I also saw this shower gel from Bourjois, one of three. It smells divine!

Last but not least this pretty Space Dust polish from Rimmel. Swatches will follow soon.

This nearby DM with all these brands we don't have really pays off. :)

What do you think about that haul? Do you know the Garnier make up remover??

Review: Garnier 5sek Retuschierer/5sec Perfect Blur Primer

Hey guys,

Today, I have something reeeaaalllyyy cool for you. The Garnier 5sec Perfect Blur Primer.

This is a completely new hybrid product. It's not a foundation or moisturizer and it's more than a primer.

This cream or fluffy thingy is a skin smoother. A primer that just after 5 seconds perfects your complexion and blurs out wrinkles, imperfections, large pores and shine.

To make it clear: it gets rid of the appearance, nothing more, but still - how cool is that!

I must admit when I got it I was sure there must be something wrong with it. The texture reminded me of an expired make up product. I mean look at that weird texture: *gg*

But no, that's the way the product is. It doesn't have a scent either. You're supposed to put it on after you moisturized your face. Now let's show you some proof.

Before:

Luckily, I don't have many wrinkles yet, but I have this horrible lines between my brows and some tiny lines under my eyes:

After I applied it and waited the five seconds:

Can you believe that result? It's incredible! I applied foundation afterwards and it went on smoother and easier as well.

I can't state enough how pleased and surprised I was by that result. It's crazy. I love and totally recommend it. Gonna wear that on my wedding day!

Now to the best part: If you live in Austria, you have the chance to get it for free! Today Garnier will be at the SCS at 14:00 in front of the New Yorker store and tomorrow in Salzburg in the Europark at 13:00 in front of S'Oliver. If you have time, get there and get yourself one!

If you buy/get or already have it, let me know if you're as happy with it as I am.

Review: Garnier Spitzen Held

Shortly, after Garnier released my beloved Wunder Öl, they came out with this fella named Spitzen Held. It's part of their new anti-spliss series. I already talked about the shampoo & conditioner. :-)

It's a serum for severely damaged hair which you massage in your hair-ends and it seals your spliss and protects it.

My thoughts:

The scent is quite artificial, I don't like that very much. I think it does a good job in moisturizing my hair-ends, but as already mentioned in my other review about the shampoo and conditioner I don't believe any product out there is able to heal or reverse spliss.

I think it helps preventing and it made my hair shiny and nice, which I liked a lot. Nevertheless, I prefer my Wunder Öl (also by Garnier). It smells lovely and does a great job. So, if you need an oil for your hair, I would buy the Wunder Öl. Don't get my wrong, Spitzen Held isn't bad, but I just prefer the other one.

Review: Garnier Fructis Schaden Löscher Shampoo & Conditioner

How was your weekend lovelies? Mine was amazing... I have a new place I call home.

This meadow is so cheesy-adorable, it looks like the set from Twilight.

Sadly, once more it's Monday, but let's deal with it with a good review:

I love Garnier and was super happy when I got those two. It's crazy how many different shampoo series you can get and yet there always comes a new one. :-)

This series is made for long, damaged hair promising to erase and seal spliss and give you healthy, shiny hair.

What do I think?

It smells a bit different than the other Garnier hair products, still fruity, but more subtle. I love the way it foams, it makes my hair feel really clean and you only need tiny amounts of product. The part with the shiny hair is definitely true, it looks and feels soft and glowing afterwards. Love that!

For the spliss effect, personally I don't think it's possible to heal or erase spliss, just like you can't reverse wrinkles, you can lessen the appearence, but that's it. I think with this shampoo it's the same. My hair looks healthy and feels soft, but I don't think my spliss can be erased.

I think this is a great product which can help prevent spliss and help keep your hair shiny and healthy. Definitely, a nice addition to Garniers hair range.

Review: Garnier Schöne Haut Oil

Shortly, after Garnier released my beloved Fructis Wunder hair oil, they released a body oil for extra-dry skin. It's a clear oil that smells really nice. Please don't ask me how exactly. *gg*

So what do I think?

I'm not completely happy with it.

A big problem is the bottle top. I expected it to be like the hair oil - a pump thingy, but it's a spray which automatically reminds me of sun oil. After you use it, you naturally spread it all over your body, which makes your hand slippery and you can hardly push down that spray top again.

The skin does absorb it quickly, but it's still an oil and that makes this bottle top quite impractical. I really think they should change it into a pump.

The performance itself is very good, but I wouldn't say it's better than my body butters. If the packaging wouldn't be flawed I would give it a full recommendation if you like body oils, but this spray top ruined it for me.

Do you own it?

Review: Garnier Hautklar Fruit Energy Cleansig Mousse

I first saw the Fruit Energy series six months ago in Excalibur City at their DM. Now it founds its way to Austria as well. :-)

I was quite excited about it, but my excitement came to a halt when I saw the target audience.. Oily skin. I have a lot, but luckily no oily skin. So, I was a bit hesitant when I got it.

Nevertheless, I tried it and was surprised by its gentleness. I know I know - it's a mousse it must be gentle, but it still could dry out your skin. The Fruit Energy formula is soft. I used it several times and had no issues with dryness.

So, if you wanna try the series, but don't have oily skin, try the mousse. There is no danger in ruining anything. I use it every other night and love it.

Review: BB Cream Blemish Balm Eye Roll-On

Garnier is extending their BB range:

And the newest family member is the eye roll-on. Let's take a closer look:

It's a handy size.

When I saw the colour I was a bit worried, but it blended quite well into my skin:

Before I'll tak about it, some swatches. The first time I distributed it quite generously beneath my eye area..

If you look close, it's not such a perfect result. It was visible on every area that didn't have the blue undertone. I didn't really see it before the close up, so it's probably not a big deal, but it annoyed me.

So, the next time, I really tried to only use it where its needed and look how lovely it turned out:

My opinion:

It's a gorgeous product as long as you are precise. It's perfect to take with you and touch up whenever you feel the need to. I didn't while I wore it.

It's creamy and goes on without troubles, but you won't ever need to use the rollerball, or to put it differently, don't do it. It's definitely enough to only let the ball touch your under eye area and you have enough product.
I used it with my fingers and it worked great. I'm sure a brush will give you even better results.

I'm definitely a fan, it's a great concealer and comes in a handy packaging.

Guinevere

Review: Garnier Fructis Wunder Öl

I've seen many reviews of this. Raves really and I gotta tell you, I can only agree. This product is genius!!!!

Some ingredients:

About the oil. I'm alway a bit wary when it comes to hair oils, cause no matter what they say. They always end up making my hair greasy in some sort of way. This doesn't!

This is the first oil I can use close to my head without making anything but nourishing it. Same with the ends of my hair. I usually use it after showering on towel dry hair. On all my hair beneath my ears. It makes them soft and lovely.

It can't imagine my hair routine without it at the moment. So, if you wonder whether or not you should try it. Try it!! I love it and definitely will repurchase it as soon as it's empty.

Guinevere

Garnier Olia Color Party!

At the beginning of November I was invited to a top-secret Color party. Garnier released a revolutionary new hair coloration that works completely without ammoniac. You know the ingredient that smells so bad you're always on the verge of fainting because of the fumes.

We were at the L'Oréal academy in Vienna and the idea was to get a at-home experience, so we had to dye our hair by ourselves, but of course we got some help.

I chose the shade nr. 7 which was quite popular. Let's share some pictures:

Here we go:

Miss Austria was also part of the event. She's so skinny and her facial features are so perfect, I was so jealous..

Group photo of some of the guests. I looked really bad standing next to the best looking person:

Me with my new hair color!

It was a lovely evening, even if it wasn't that easy to color your hair by yourself.. Several girls had troubles, but luckily it worked for me.

It's a little over a month now since I dyed it and the colour still looks lovely, the nice smell is another plus. 60% of the colour is made of oils, several of them of natural origin. Pretty cool.

Thanks to Garnier for inviting me and if your looking for a hair color without those horrible fumes, go get this one! In France and the UK it's already available, we'll get it in January

Garnier Fructis Heisses Volumen 48H Review

Hello lovelies,

It's review time. :-)

Garnier surprised me with those right after they were released and I was quite suspicious from the get go I have to admit. I don't blow dry my hair, I always let it air dry.

All in all, I end up blow drying it a couple of times a year. Mostly, during winter. So when I saw that these were "activated" by heat I wasn't happy.

Blow drying isn't good for your hair and having a product that makes it mandatory is rather unlikeable for me. So I started using it without blow drying it afterwards. *g*

I really like it as a normal shampoo. It cleans well, feels nice, has that pleasent Garnier smell and foams just right. There's no volume afterwards, but okay. After all heat is needed, so I didn't mind.

After the product was half empty, I tried it the way it's supposed to be used. I blow dried it and ended up with a complete volumeless hair..

I made photos, but they are lost somewhere on my laptop and honestly, you don't see anything, cause there is no volume.. No nothing.. I was really disappointed, cause I expected it to have at least a bit of an effect.

The packaging on these wasn't that durable as well.. One time, I don't take pics before using the product and of course this happens.. Luckily, as you can see above, it can be smoothed out.

Conclusion:

Don't buy it if you want a product that gives you volume.. It just doesn't work.. Get the John Frieda Volume products, they are great.

Sorry Garnier, I truly love you, but this time you completely failed.. As a normal shampoo it's great and I'll happily use it until it's empty, but there is no effect in terms of volume.

I hope this was helpful. I also got the Heisses Volumen 48H dry shampoo for testing and haven't used it so far, cause I can't stand greasy hair, but I've heard great things of it and will review it soon.

Guinevere
