Trim That Brow!

I'm sure none of us would have thought our eyebrows are such an important facial feature while growing up. *gg* I sure haven't. I just always wanted them to look like Angelina Jolies. lol

Today I'm gonna show you my must-have tools for nice and neat brows. However your natural shape is. :-) Here they are:

Good tweezers are a must. Mine are from Tweezerman, a brand I love, sadly they aren't so easy to get in Austria, but nothing a trip to the Uk can't fix. ;-)

This rosy, funny looking thing is a brow shaver. You can get it in drugstores, this one is from Bipa. I use it after I tweeze the obvious hairs to get rid of the lighter ones. It just gives you a neat result and leaves your eye area hair-free

Not all people trim the hairs above your brow, many only tweeze below the brow bone, I prefer to shorten the long ones so everything is in order, therefore the scissors :)

For the final touch is use this baby from Origins:

It's the "No Puffery" Cooling roll-on. It's originally designed for puffy eyes and bags, but it is the perfect product to cool and soothe the red areas after tweezing and shaping. I use it every time and I love it.

So that's it. Those are my go-to tools for nice and neat brows. :-) I hope this was useful.

Valerie

Out and About with Origins & Smashbox

The releases keep coming. Origins just came out with a new serum :-) I love love love Origins and am always excited about news from this brand. So this is a product quite targeting my age group.

While enjoying a lovely breakfast and presentation we got to see the new quarter-life crisis serum with willow bark named Original Skin!

My age group gets more and more recognition in skin care. For years there was just young and mostly troubled skin care, a bit of unspecified one for all age groups and the anti-age range. It's interesting to see more and more of this. It smells lovely and I will do a seperate post after some testing. :)

Besides the lovely Origins serum Smashbox was also there with their new contouring kit.

Soon, there will also be a contour stick trio available. Quite interesting. :-) Cream products are never to be overlooked when it comes to contouring.

Here it is and it is awesome!

I will review the trio as well of course. :-)

It was a great morning and I enjoyed it immensly, I will share my thoughts about the products soon.

Valerie

Staudigl goes online!

Last week I had the pleasure to attend Staudigl's PR event to celebrate their new online shop including some novelties they are selling. Let's take a look..

Pretty neat, right? :-)

Their online shop will feature brands such as Deborah Lippmann, und Gretel, Glückspilze, Origins, Soapwalla, Zoya and many more.

There's express delivery available, abo functions and even personal assistance to find your ideal product. Overall, a shop perfectly equipped if you are in need of your favorite natural cosmetics. :)

You can take an online-stroll here: http://www.staudigl.at/

When it comes to natural cosmetics, what is your favorite brand? Mine is definitely Origins!

Review: Origins GinZing

Origins released a new GinZing prodiuct - the Gin Zing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser. I was really excited to try this. I love their GinZing range!

Here's Origins description:

This 2 in 1 scrubby cleanser is fortified with radiance-boosting Panax Ginseng and Caffeine.  Jojoba and Carnauba Wax gently exfoliate to help unclog pores.  Skin looks smoother, brighter.  Feels perfectly refreshed and squeaky clean.  Plus, our uplifting 100% natural essential oil blend of Grapefruit, Lemon and Spearmint perks you up so you're ready to face the day!

What do I think?

I love the scent, it's that typical orangy GinZing scent which is just divine. I liked the scrub a lot, but it's definitely a once-a-week product for me. Even though it says one can use it on a daily basis, it's still a scrub and for my sensitive skin it's too much to use daily, but I'm definitely gonna use it this one time a week. :)

Review: Origins Smarty Plants CC Skin Corrector

I love Origins and when they released their new CC cream I had to have it. Let's take a closer look:

Me wearing it:

As you can see it adapts very well to your skin tone. Nevertheless, I wouldn't apply too much, a little goes a long way.

What does Origins say about it:

Our high-tech hero intuitively color corrects and visibly perfects so you look radiant and flawless without any fuss. Our super-smart antioxidant infused formula helps neutralize skin damaging effects of city smog and pollution. Our amazing overachiever helps recycle environmental stressors into vital hydration. And that means you keep your youthful good looks longer.

What I say about it:

I really like it. At the beginning I used too much cream and my skin looked a bit orange. Now I use less and the result is great. It comes in two shades: light/medium and medium/dark. It has that lovely fresh Origins scent and the skin literally absorbs it immediately. It's crazy, something I only experienced with Origins so far.

In my opinion, or at least it's my impression, it has less coverage than a BB cream. It evens out your skin, but you will need something else for coverage. If you have dry skin like me, you will need a moisturizer underneath as well. It would say the perfect order is: moisturizer, CC cream, foundation/concealer.

If it helps to neutralize skin damaging and turn environmental stressors into hydration is something I can't really answer, but I trust their scientists. :)

Review: Origins No Puffery Eye Roll On

I love Origins and they just keep making awesome products. One of their latest addition is this handy cooling roll-on for puffy eyes.

What Origins says: "Win the battle of the bags. This incredibly cooling roll on treatment with Yeast Extract instantly helps de-poufs puffs as it brightens dark circles. All while Hoelen Mushroom Extract helps calms skin to keep visible redness from settling in. Ophthalmologist tested."

I've been testing it for two weeks now and I love it. It's refreshing, cooling and moisturizing. I was surprised how moisturizing it is and one only needs tiny amounts of product. I didn't expect the cooling effect to be so amazing to be honest. *gg* You can pimp that even more when you put it in your fridge.

Another something I love about it - we all know that redness and stinging after you tweeze your brows. Most eye products burn if you apply them afterwards. This one doesn't! It cools and calms the eye area. I've been looking for an eye cream that I can use after tweezing without being heavy for ages!

Nevertheless, if you are looking for something more specific, anti-aging for example I would recommend their Plantscription eye cream. I have been using it for months now and love it as well. A review will follow soon.

All in all - another gorgeous products from my beloved Origins company. I just finished my Night-A-Mins face cream, that was a sad night.. *g*

Review: Origins GinZing Face Moisturizer

It's time to review a new favorite of mine. The "GinZing energy-boosting face moisturizer" from Origins.

It recently launched in Austria and I had the pleasure to attend the press breakfast - I talked about it here.

Let's keep it short. I loooove it. It smells like fresh squeezed oranges and my skin literally soaks it in. That might be an issue for some people that have dry skin. It's a light, oil-free cream full of coffee bean extracts and ginseng, perfect for summer.

So, if you have dry skin, you can use it as serum. I'll do that when it's cold outside, for now the cream alone is enough. :-) The price is another plus, the cream costs 25€, which is great. Usually, you can't get an Origins face cream under 40€.

You should definitely check it out if you need a new, high quality face cream.

Review: Origins GinZing Mascara

Origins stopped selling their make up in Austria a little while back, until now. They released a new mascara. The "GinZing" mascara. Another item of the GinZing series. :-)

I was a little intimitated when I saw the brush. It's huuuuge.

What Origins says about it:

"100% visible boost in lushness & lift - Go from wimpy to whoa with Nature's lash-boosting pro. In an instant, the mega-plush brush sweeps up, fans out & delivers a powerful formula with eye-opening Carnauba Palm to every last lash. The result: soft, long, lush lashes that never look spiky, brittle or clumpy."

What do I say?

I didn't expect much to be honest, but I absolutely love it! It curls, lengthens and stays put. It's not waterproof, but it persisted some serious tears of laughter. *g* Definitely a new favorite of mine. I can totally recommend it!

Guinevere

Of course I got mine, my mom got one too. You could choose between "Plantscription" and the famous "GinZing".

Still can't believe it. That's so cool. I already reviewed the GinZing eye cream here. Did you get yours?
