Review: Look by Bipa Detangling Artist

I have a new favorite hair brush!! The Detangling Artist brush from Look by Bipa. I love it.

Let's take a look. I bought the most colourful version:

It has a good size and in comparison to the Tangle Teezer (click for review) it is a bit stronger in its pull without hurting. I love it. And with its 8,99 it's cheaper as well.

If you think about buying it - I would recommend it. :)

Love,
Valerie

Review: Redken Diamond Hair Oil

Today I have something luxurious for you. Redken's new diamond hair oil. It's pure beauty decadence. Let's take a look.

The oil comes with a pipette, which allows you to get exactly the amount of product you want to use.

That's what Redken says about it:

  • silicone-free with natural hair oils that penetrate each level of the hair fiber to nourish strengthen and reinforce strands from the inside out
  • Hair is 3x stronger with 2x more shine
  • Seals, coats and smoothes the cuticle to boost shine and protect hair from damage due to friction from brushing, styling, etc.
  • Features a unique dropper for precise, no-waste dosage
  • Hybrid Oil technology combines synthetic polymers with 99% natural hair oils, including olive, jojoba, coconut and sunflower seed oils
My opinion:

I reeeaaally like it. You all know I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and this oil, with its heavy glass bottle and the lovely apricot scent is right up my alley. You only need the tiniest amounts of product. Only a couple of drops, that's enough. It vanishes into your hair immediately and leaves it nice and shiny.
The only thing that numbs my excitement is the prize tag. 45€ for one of these pretty babies is quite a lot. It will last you forever, but in the end it's still "just" a hair oil.

Is it of great quality and a real treat? Yes, but I think there are others out there which are much more affordable and do a great job as well.

Guinevere

ghd eclipse

Another news I had to share: ghd released a completely new hair styling tool. The ghd eclipse.

Let's take a look at it:

All ghd stylers together:

It was designed to even handle the most difficult hair. Extreme frizz and thick hair that usually can't be tamed.

It has a Tri-Zone technology with thinner plates that makes the styler ready in 20 seconds. The position of the plates is more centered which makes it easier to style your hair and reduces the danger of burning yourself if you're as clumsy as me.

It even has a sleep-mode. If you don't use it for 30 minutes it turns itself off. Pretty smart.

It comes with a protection cap and the cable is 2,7 m long.

Now the only sucky thing. This amazing tool costs 245€. I can't tell you how much I'd love to own it, but sadly it's definitely out of reach for me. Anyone of you own this baby?

Guinevere

Review: L'oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Souffle d'Or Shampoo & Conditioner

Hey guys,

Today's my day off. What a treat :-) I got these two a little while ago and now it's review time!

They have a handy pump which I absolutely love:

What L'oréal says:

Specially formulated for fine to normal hair, L'Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Souffle d'Or will give your hair a dazzling shine. Infused with precious argan and safflower oils, it intensely nourishes your hair without weighing it down. It works to gently cleanse away dirt, oil and impurities from your hair and scalp, whilst imparting your locks with a beautiful, healthy sheen, thanks to the golden sparkles that catch the light for a show-stopping effect. Your hair will be left soft, smooth and wonderfully supple.

My opinion:

Well, I wish I could tell you something different, but I don't like them. They have a rather heavy perfume scent which isn't my thing and even though they seem to be full of argan oil I don't find them exceptionally moisturizing. What annoys me the most though is the fact that my hair gets greasy again after one day.. That's just too damn soon. For the sparkle, well it mostly reminded me of a princess kids shampoo.

They are parabene and silicone free and exclusively available in salons.

I hope this was helpful.

Love you guys,
Guinevere

My New Hair Colour

My wedding is coming closer and closer, a good week and I'm married. Unbelievable..

Since I had three different hair colours I thought it's time to get a more natural, harmonious colour for my big day.

I wish I could say it was simple to find a hairdresser, but a lot can go wrong when it comes to colour. There are a few salons, but their prices are insane..

Luckily, I was part of the Matrix Colour event. The lovely hair colour expert of L'Oréal was there as well and since she owns her own shop I went to her and got a wonderful result.

Before:

After:

Like I was born with that hair colour. She's amazing. I love the result. Kisses to you, Belma!!

You can find her store here: Anton Baumgartnerstraße 127, 1230 Vienna. It's called "Belma Coiffeur" and she has a facebook site as well. :-)

If you want a new haircut or colour and not end up broke, go to her!

What do you think? Like the result?

Love,
Guinevere

Kérastase Couture Styling Launch

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure to attend the press conference of Kérastases new styling range. I'm sure you all know who Kérastase is - a high end hair brand which up until now focused on hair care "only".

In June, Kérastase will release ten styling products exclusively available in salons. Each of those is full oh high tech ingredients designed to cater to all the styling needs one can have. To top it off they got Kate Moss as their muse.

Some impressions of the event:

Two of Austria's top hair artists gave us an insight on the performance and quality of the new styling range. It was quite impressive.

It was high end through and through. The products are developed with love for detail. Scent, feeling, texture, packaging, everything is thought-out. My personal highlight - I got a goodie bag including three of the styling products:

I'm gonna review each product seperately, just so you know what you can expect :-)
  • touche finale: serum for glossy finish
  • mousse buffant: mousse for three-dimensional volume
  • forme fatale: gel for volume and hold
After all this incredible theory, I gotta say I have high expectations. I'll let you know how they work on me.

Guinevere

Review: Garnier Fructis Schaden Löscher Shampoo & Conditioner

How was your weekend lovelies? Mine was amazing... I have a new place I call home.

This meadow is so cheesy-adorable, it looks like the set from Twilight.

Sadly, once more it's Monday, but let's deal with it with a good review:

I love Garnier and was super happy when I got those two. It's crazy how many different shampoo series you can get and yet there always comes a new one. :-)

This series is made for long, damaged hair promising to erase and seal spliss and give you healthy, shiny hair.

What do I think?

It smells a bit different than the other Garnier hair products, still fruity, but more subtle. I love the way it foams, it makes my hair feel really clean and you only need tiny amounts of product. The part with the shiny hair is definitely true, it looks and feels soft and glowing afterwards. Love that!

For the spliss effect, personally I don't think it's possible to heal or erase spliss, just like you can't reverse wrinkles, you can lessen the appearence, but that's it. I think with this shampoo it's the same. My hair looks healthy and feels soft, but I don't think my spliss can be erased.

I think this is a great product which can help prevent spliss and help keep your hair shiny and healthy. Definitely, a nice addition to Garniers hair range.

Love,
Guinevere

L'Oréal Wild Ombrés Highlights

Hey lovelies,

Sorry for my silence, but I have a cold that really knocked me out the last couple of days and still does. I hate these temperatures.. It feels like we're a week away from christmas..

But let's change topic, I know I said I'm too chicken to try the Wild Ombré Highlights dye before my wedding, but I did it. You guys were so curious, so I just had to. *g* Here is the post where I showed you all the details. *click*

Let's give you a before and after and then I'll talk about the experience! *g*

Before:

and nooooww: after!

You can definitely see a difference! What do you think?

I'm not so sure about it, but it's not bad. I sorta like it. *gg* The only thing is the not-so-perfect transition. It's too harsh, but it's difficult to get a real idea about how it will look afterwards while dyeing it.

You use it with a brush on your dry hair starting as far up as you want it to:

Pretty Guinevere.. What a horrible picture, but I wanted to show you how it looks..

I was a bit nervous, cause the instruction warns you more than once to be really careful with the dye.. I found that quite unsettling, also you have to be quick mixing the liquids together, cause once mixed it overflows if you don't open the bottle quickly enough. Truly weird.

Luckily, I didn't have any problems with the product and even though the dye touched my skin, I had no troubles with that.

All in all, I think this is a great dye if you wanna try the ombré look! So, what is your opinion on it?

Love,
Guinevere

L'Oréal Paris Wild Ombrés Préférence Highlights

L'Oréal released something pretty cool - a DIY ombré hair dye. The ombré style is quite trendy at the moment, so this is right up your alley if you wanna try it.

I got this two weeks ago and look at it every single day, but can't get myself to do it. I'm sure it works great, but I'm getting married and I think for now I wanna keep my hair colour classic.

Nevertheless, I wanted to show you how it would work and the tools you get to achieve that look. So here we go:

Quite an amount of items:

Tool kit:

So, what do you think? Something you would try? Do you have the ombré hair style?

Love,
Guinevere
