Label your stuff girls!!

I'm sure you all know Mac's eyeshadow palettes, these little things are a divine invention and I own a few.

I have them colour coordinated, but since they have no see-through surface I had to look through them each time until I found the right one which gets annoying over time, believe me.

I thought about labelling them for quite some time now, butI find my handwriting not appealing enough to want to look at it all the time and I have a lot of troubles endangering my palettes with an ugly outfit.

So, I decided to steal my dad's cool label-thing.

It cost him about 30€ and it is so versatile. You can choose different fonts, the size and even buy different background colours.

After reading the menu and choosing carefully what would fit best to my palettes I ended up printing these:

And ready is the new outfit:

I just wanted to make clear: I don't own a full palette just with highlighter and in case some of you are wondering, I do have yellow, orange and red eyeshadows!

They just are in one palette, but I wasn't sure how long I could fit them in one, so I just wrote Highlighter on it. Meanwhile, I have indeed a Yellow - Red palette. *gg*

So I hope I inspired some of you and gave the ones, who hate their handwriting as well, hope.

MAC To the Beach Haul

So, as I promised here are the photos of the items I got from this collection. Though I have to warn you - they are taken inside with artifical lighting.

I was at my gran's funeral today and had to hurry from there to work and just came home. Dark night outside. I think I captured the colours pretty good, except maybe Beach Bronze could have been better.

Because of this crappy lighting I will post the swatches tomorrow with daylight.

But now on to the pics.

Bronzing Powder in "Golden"

Blush in "Hipness"

Creme Bronzer in "Beach Bronze"

Eyeshadow in "Sweet & Punchy"

Lip Pencil in "Temperature Rising"

Lipstick in "Lazy Day"

Lipgloss in "Flurry of Fun"

The products look gorgeous, don't you think?? I love this summery orange/green packaging with the cute ocean prints on them. And I mean look at that cool duo coloured lipgloss and the neon orange lip liner!!!

I know natural light pics are always better and maybe I do it all again tomorrow when I make the swatches, but I just wanted to keep my promise. :-)

Oh! Yes I know, where is the cute seahorse highlight powder?

You can ask anyone who knows me, I'm a sucker for pretty things and when I saw the promo pics of To the Beach I was sure I would get it, but beside the seahorse just being an overspray (I never would have used it anyway, just to not destroy it's prettyness) it is not as beautiful as it looks on the pictures.

It's not.

Really.

Sad, but true, the seahorse looks kinda weird or at least all the ones my MAC got do. I know that is a truly crappy description for it, but I don't know how else to say it..

So I hope you enjoyed this picture marathon and come back tomorrow to see the swatches.

MAC To the Beach

So MAC to the Beach released on the first of May in Austria. Yeah you read right, 1.5.2010.

That is before America, Germany, UK and where else it might be. This never happens, usually Austria is one month behind. So I was quite excited and against my fears they in fact did accept the pro discount. :-) That was a happy morning. *gg*

So this is just a heads up for the post with swatches tomorrow. Up til then you can guess what is behind the pretty packaging. *gg*

stupid hairdresser

Last week was hairdresser time... I always hate it, cause when you're having long hair and want it even longer you don't want anything close to your hair that even looks like scissors..

Nevertheless, one needs to cut of the split ends every couple of months, so I did that.

Good bye hip-long hair, hello belly button-long hair..

They are so short now....

Illamasqua Liquid Metal Quad

I'm a real fan of Illamasqua, but I restraint myself up to now to not give in and buy the liquid metals, so when I heard there will be a quad with all four of them I just had to have it!

So I tried to order it along with the Illumine Oil in Volt, but everything was sold out - after freaking 2 hours, gosh I was pissed.. Buuuuut a few hours later they actually had everything back in stock so I forgave them quickly and placed my order.

It took unusually long to arrive, I guess because of the volcanic ash thing.

So today I show you the palette,. :-) I have a very hard time using new things I got immediately, they are too precious to use right away.. *gg*

I need a bit more time for the Illumine Oil, okay? I didn't use the metals except for the swatches and they were surprisingly watery which I didn't like at all, but I'm pretty sure that was just the top layer which seemed to "sweat" a little. I will keep you updated on how the texture is.

Looks very silver, but it is black, it's just the light.
´
See what I meant with watery looking? I haven't touched them in these pics and that was how they looked like.

The palette retails for 29,50€ and the Oil for 32€. Not cheap I know, but they look really pretty, so I will do a look with them soon and tell you about my experience with them.

The Body Shop Summer Trend Collection

The Body Shop is going to bring out their summer trend collection in the next few days/weeks, depending on the arrival of the promo material, and I thought I give you a little insight.

There are going to be three eyeshadow duos which reminded me of the MAC ones, though when you put them besides each other they aren't that similar anymore..

The one from The Body Shop called Jade normally has a round surface as well, mine is a broken tester I could keep if you're wondering.

I swatched Jade and MAC's Blue Sorcery, which was a limited edition, so you could see the difference.

I needed three times the amount of product of Jade to get a similar colour pay off to Blue Sorcery, which is really sad, The Body Shop eyeshadows really lack pigmentation.

Fair enough you oughta say that not everyone loves bright colours. So for the ones that love natural make up looks The Body Shop is your place. The silver colour from the MAC duo is very coarse, while Jade's texture is gorgeous on both sides.

And if you invest time you can get a nice result. The colours themselves are pretty and I look forward to see the whole collection.

There are some cool skinfinishes!
