The new Glossybox is here!

The new Glossybox arrived a couple of days ago and it's time to take a look.

When I saw the content I wasn't overly excited. After the last two boxes the bar was raised pretty high.

Let's go through it. A Syoss styling blow-dry spray, a shimmery body lotion by Nougat Limited London, a brow wax pencil from Sumita Beauty, an Avène trial size of their Hydrance light face cream and finally the Lift+ CC cream by Diadermine.

I have tried the body lotion and was happily surprised. The smell is nice and even though I wouldn't have thought it the shimmer is subtle. I don't like shimmering body products, so that was good news.

The Avène cream is amazing! I wish this would have been a full-size product. It moisturized lovely and felt nice. One only needs a tiny amount as well.

I'm really curious about this one, I haven't had the chance to try it, but I will tomorrow!

I only used it on my hand and it wasn't orange which is a plus, I can't say more for now.

So, after taking a closer look, this is a solid, good box. The only thing I'm tired of are these hair sprays.. It seems there is one in every box! They should put in some shapmoos and conditioners. Those are products everyone uses again and again.

What is your opinion about it?

Vienna Haul

On Thursday I spent the whole day in Vienna thanks to two lecture which conveniently were six hours apart..

So I had time to do some shopping..

I bought the book I just talked about in my previous post a vegan mayonnaise and some beauty stuff.

I wanted to test Ebelin's and Essence's sponge nail polish remover. I wanna get back into stamping so the stampy polish had to come home with me as well.

Have you tried the sponge removers yet??

"The Fault In Our Stars" and what it thaught me

This is a very personal post, but one I want to put out there in the world for everyone to read. So, if you want to know my story. Go ahead.

I've heard a lot about this book "The Fault In Our Stars" by John Green and since I was looking for a good new book I bought it two days ago.

I try not to spoil anything, most of you will know it anyway, it's about two cancer kids who fall in love. It's such an incredible book, I basically cried the last 100 pages.

I just finished it and it reminded me of so much I had forgotten. I've been struggling with my life now for quite a while, but today I realized how lucky I am and how immensly grateful I am for my life. And I wanna talk about it, tell my story.

I have three chronical illnesses. Epilepsy, depression and a thyroid disfunction. They are a part of me and I'm not ashamed of them, so I don't care who knows that I have these illnesses.

Besides that I spend two years after my 18th birthday mostly in hospital, in a wheelchair and on crutches, cause parts of my bones on my ankles broke and ruined the cartilage. I had two cartilage transplants, one on each ankle and had to learn thrice to walk again. All in all I had four operations, because of that.

I have to take a lot of medicine each day to stay "healthy", although I know I will never be healthy. I will always be sick, but my illnesses are not terminal. I can live a fairly normal life.

This book reminded me of how lucky I am to be able to live my life. To only have to take some pills to keep my brain from disfunctioning and giving me a seizure that could be lethal (worst case scenario) and that stabilize that serotonin disfunction that might crush me and push me into a darkness I can't come back from.

I am so grateful for this medication that allows me to be as close to health as possible. For having a husband that loves me, even though it can be tough and for a loving family. I am grateful for that house we live in and our pets that give us joy.

I just want the world to know that. That I truly am able to see again how lucky I am and that I appreciate my life and don't want it to stop. Thanks to that fictional book about a story that sure happened in reality as well, I feel better than I have in a long time.

Essence's Big Ass Display

I finally saw the new - huuuuge - wall display of Essence at a Müller. It's enormous and amazing!

New effect polishes, I love them!

A bunch of new "gel nails at home" products

The carousel is a cool concept, but not very practical.

I don't think I need to mention those gorgeous new palettes, cleverly designed to resemble the palettes from Benefit...

A ton of new products, I snatched a few up, though I could have bought thrice as much. I'll show them to you soon.

Current & Temporary Beauty Storage

Hey guys,

Moving into an old house automatically comes with the need to renovate at some point. For us this is now and since this house doesn't have a real bathroom, only a toilet and a shower my make up was scattered all around the house.

I don't have all my make up and bath & body stuff here yet, because there is simply no (safe) place to store it, but yesterday I collected everything from all the corners and put it in our Expedit. I thought you might be curious.

Hair products, deodorants

Face & Body products

Lipsticks and a few glosses and liners

Some of my brushes

Most of my palettes, some foundations, concealers and make up removers

cream eye prducts, blushes and a few other powder products

and this is the container where I keep all the items I alternate between and use almost daily. Wanna see it in detail?

Most of my face powders like skinfinishes and bronzers are in Vienna. My glosses and all the liners I have as well. Loose eyeshadows and a few eyeshadow palettes, the rest of my brushes and a bunch of other bath & body items are still waiting in Vienna too.

I can't wait to finally bring everything here, there's just something missing, even though I don't use most of the products regularly, but for now this is the only way I can store it. What do you think?

Essence Bloom me up! Blush Brush

Essence released some brushes in their recent LE called "bloom me up!". I would have bought them all, just out of curiosity, but in the end I only got the blush brush. Look at that cute design:

It's an amazing brush, I used it to apply blush and contour powder so far and it did a lovely job every time. It's an awesome tool for such affordable price. If you manage to find one, buy it!

I hope you have a great weekend, we're renovating big style and Emma got a bit scared by all the noise..

Kronos wasn't overly excited to share his new bed, but he's a big brother now. He'll get used to it. *g*

Look of the Day

It's been ages since I did a make up look post and I'm gonna revive this section.

Today, I went for something quick and classy. I'm a teacher after all, even though I'd love to, I can't turn up with bright pink eyes.

I apologize for the crappy background, sadly I don't have a fancy space for taking photos and the best lighting is in our kitchen. We're gonna renovate our 50's kitchen this summer, so it'll be a nice background eventually. *gg*

Those were my tools.

If you have questions about some of the products, let me know. Emma discovered her gardening skills and dug us some holes..

Still embarassed for this gnome.. *g*

Catrice - Holo Manolo

As you might have seen I bought a few polishes from Catrice's Luxury Laquers LE and now it's time for a swatch post. This is Holo Manolo and it is GORGEOUS

No streakyness, opaque after two coats. This is perfection. I absolutely love it!

Did you get yours? You should!

Emma and the Big Wide World

I thought you might be curious how's Emma doing. It's been almost two weeks now and she's making progress every day.

We're still far away from taking our first walk, but she's walking around the house with more confidence every day, eats well and tried the stairs for the first time.

Some pictures.

My parents gave this garden gnome to us as a prank, we are definitely not garden gnome people and while we aren't big fans, the pets love him, so he stays... *gg*

Isn't she precious?

Guinevere
