Review: L'Oréal Nude Magique Eau de Teint

L'Oréal released a new foundation which is supposed to feel "lighter than water" on your skin. Let's take a closer look.

My thoughts:

It has a very liquid texture. You need to shake the foundation well before using it. Best to repeat that and use what you got on your finger and apply it onto your skin.

I used it with a stippling brush as well and it worked fine. It applies lovely and absorbs quickly. I really like it, but it doesn't have much coverage. Well, no true coverage at all. It evens out the skintone, but it doesn't cover dark shadows or pimples. My skin is very even and I really like the lovely and light feeling it gives me, but if you have problem areas you won't be happy with this.

So, it really depends on your skintype. For me, who often forgets to wear foundation, cause it's not a big problem area, this is a great alternative, like a bb cream, but with a lighter feeling. If you really want a foundation that does conceal as well, I wouldn't go for it though.

Review: Maybelline Jade Fit Me Stick

This anti-shine foundation stick is a new favourite of mine. It's an addition to the Fit Me range. A cream stick with a powder core that minimizes shine on your face. 

Let's take a look at it:

Now the fun part - paint your face like your in a tribe:

I have the lightest shade, which is 120 "vanille". I've been using it the last two weeks and I absolutely love it. Even though it is a cream product, it distributes like a dream and turns into powder.

It gives you light to medium coverage, but it won't cover any red spots or general redness. Nevertheless, it takes only seconds to even out your complexion and you can easily handle those red little devils with a concealer.

I can definitely recommend this product!! Since all displays have testers it's easy to get the right shade. Let me know if you try it and what you think.

Review: MAC Mineralize Moisture Foundation

There was some interest in how this foundation performs, so I went to the next MAC and got a big ass sample. *g* First thing - no NW15.. Just an NC15.

So I got an NC15.

A quick swatch.

As you can see, it doesn't really match. This right there knocks it out for me, but of course I reviewed it nonetheless. :-) Not everyone wears NW15.

Now, before I talk about it, two photos of me wearing it:

So what do I say??

I can agree with most of what they say. It is moisturizing and a little product goes a long way. I'd also agree that it has light-to-medium coverage. 

What I don't think it does, at least not to my satisfaction is blending into the skin. It kinda sat on my face and I felt the need to set it with powder. I never had the feeling it truly blended in. Something I hated.

Long story short. Nothing for me. Even if they would have my skintone, I wouldn't buy it. I need my foundation to "melt" into my skin, like the Bourjois one does. There are so many different foundations out there which do an amazing job, one can be picky. Definitely get a sample first, one always should when it comes to foundation.

Review: MAC Select SPF 15 Foundation

Hey guys,

The Select SPF 15 by MAC was the first foundation I ever bought and used and it's still as good as new. As long as products perform, smell and feel the way they are supposed to, I keep them.

MAC says: "Our water-based liquid foundation. Combines medium coverage with SPF 15. Provides a fresh, natural matte finish. Layers up, lasts long: helps protect the skin all day. Non-oily. 18 shades. Best way to baby your skin!"

All that is true. It has a very liquid consistence and applies smoothly. Since it distributes so lovely, I usually apply it with my fingers almost like I would do with a face cream.

 

The finish looks and feels natural and one can get medium coverage with it. The problem with this product is the fact that as soon as it gets hot and one starts to sweat (even only a little) the foundation literally runs down your face..

If there wouldn't be this one flaw, it would be the perfect foundation. So due to this water-based problem I only feel save wearing it when it's cold.

I really like this foundation, but I wouldn't repurchase it. This is a no-go for me, if I wear a foundation it needs to be durable.

Hope this was helpful. There are so many foundations out there, can be quite confusing.

MAC's new Mineralize Foundation

Soooo I promised a make up post and here it is.


MAC released a new mineralize foundation at the beginning of the month and even though I didn't expect it, I bought it. *g*

I was there to check out the All Ages All Races All Sexes collection and stumbled over it. The sales girl talked about it and that I would need the NC15 if I want it and not the NW15. I have several experiences with MAC sales girls telling me what foundation shade I need and they always get it wrong, so I thought "okay, another proud moment for MAC" but when she showed me the shade I changed my mind immediately.


The NW115 was soooo superdark, it was crazy and as you can see the NC15, the one I ended up buying after trying it out there, has such a warm undertone to it, you wouldn't believe it. Typical mineralize foundation as it seems..

And how is the foundation itself? I would recommend it. It has a nice coverage, doesn't feel heavy and is handy.

One thing I always think about is the perfect brush for a foundation and every texture craves another brush and with this one I found the perfect brush:


MAC's 168 or as in my picture the Sigma 168. It's soooo perfect for this creamy texture. I don't like it for liquid foundations, I usually use a duo fibre brush for it.
