ghd eclipse

Another news I had to share: ghd released a completely new hair styling tool. The ghd eclipse.

Let's take a look at it:

All ghd stylers together:

It was designed to even handle the most difficult hair. Extreme frizz and thick hair that usually can't be tamed.

It has a Tri-Zone technology with thinner plates that makes the styler ready in 20 seconds. The position of the plates is more centered which makes it easier to style your hair and reduces the danger of burning yourself if you're as clumsy as me.

It even has a sleep-mode. If you don't use it for 30 minutes it turns itself off. Pretty smart.

It comes with a protection cap and the cable is 2,7 m long.

Now the only sucky thing. This amazing tool costs 245€. I can't tell you how much I'd love to own it, but sadly it's definitely out of reach for me. Anyone of you own this baby?

ghd Jewel Pink Diamond & Jewel Collection

Ghd released some pretty awesome looking hair stylers, so I wanted to share some pictures with you. In addition, they also released a limited edition of hairdryers.

Let's take a look:

This one is called "Pink Diamond" and 10€ of every sale goes to a charitable organization named DKMS LIFE.

The Jewels:

and here are the hairdryers:

Pretty beautiful, right?

The only "drawback" is the price.. The Styler Set costs 199€ and the hairdryers are 129€. I love my styler, but I know this is a huge amount of money. I guess one really has to think about whether or not it's worth it.

Do you own a ghd styler??

Review: ghd

Finally *g* I already posted twice about it: *click* and *click* but this is the "real" review and it's going to be enormous. *g*

Where do I start..

Let's do it from the top:

Quality/Finish & Handling

No surprise I know, but the quality is amazing. The styler heats up in seconds and you're informed about that with a nice beep and the heat stays constant, even if it takes you ages to get your hairstyle done, because you're so incapable. *g*

You can touch the styler on the outside without troubles or getting burned. It is perfectly formed, so no dragging on your hair while styling, no matter if you curl or straighten your hair. I don't know how often I had this tugging thing with curling irons..

What annoys me a little bit is that missing holder.. I constantly had the wish to be able to put it on a heat-proof holder while styling breaks. You know when you put clips in your hair or so. For 200€ something like that could be included..

There is no holder in their official shop. I found one on the ghd-store.de site: *click* for 49€, but that is not cheap. I asked ghd and they told me that this holder is an invention of the ghd-store.de guys which are customers of ghd themselves and sell their products mainly online.

There is a reason why there is no holder. Each set includes a cap which is completely heat-resistant and in which you can put your hot styler to safely cool down.

When it comes to the where do I put it while styling? issue: you can put it on all regular surfaces, so no worries there.

In case you don't feel safe enough with that: They sell a heat-resistant mat/bag thing for 25€ in their store.

On to:

Performance & Results:

Again, I'm sure you've already read this a million times before and now from me: This styler is perfection. It's divine. Just as simple as that.

I used it many times and my hair never felt dry after styling, it actually felt softer, healthier and smoother.

One can do so many things with it. It's crazy. I created, as good as I managed to do so lol, the three main looks: curls, loose curls and straight.

Unfortunately, curls look sooooo silly on me. It's really sad, cause I always wanted them. I'm not gonna show you a picture of them, cause I simply looked ridiculous, though the curls themselves were perfect.. *g*

Here are my softer curls:

Lovely curls, but even those don't work with my face.

The look I really loved was the straight hair:

Since my hair isn't wavy I never thought straightening my hair would be something for me, but it totally is! *gg* I love it, it definitely suits me.

In a nutshell:

I love it. I absolutey adore it. It creates incredible hairstyles and is of excellent quality. I've seen people do unbelievable things with this.

It still is pricy, there's no sugarcoating that. Nevertheless, if you ask me, it's worth getting. I've always preferred quality and sometimes it costs and I'm sure this styler will last for the rest of my life. It's a bit like the Clarisonic. Expensive, but I never regretted buying it and always would do it again.

Christmas is coming, so write it on your wishlist girls. :-)

Guinevere
The product was given to me for review.

ghd Scarlet Collection

A couple of days ago I got the press material for the new ghd and gosh it's pretty. This is right up my alley:

How beautiful and sophisticated is this set?

If I would be rich, I definitely would buy this. *gg*

This set is inspired by "Snow White" and the 1920's. So lovely! This time the ambassadress is Katy Perry, how fitting. :-)

The official look:

I think this is a perfect present for every girl, if you have the money.. The set costs 219€, definitely not a bargain, but quality has its price. Always has and always will.

Are you tempted? I'm sure you are. *gg*

ghd: First Impressions

Hey guys,

Some of you might remember I got a ghd in August. *click*

And some of you also already know I have this tic that I can't use awesome things right away..
Well and this is such an amazing product that I'm sure if I wouldn't have the lovely job to review this beauty, it might be christmas before I'd even gone near it..

But since this gift came with an obligation I just had to get over this tic.. Gotta say it wasn't easy.

I've used it several times so far, it's so pretty and it's amazing, truly amazing. My hair is very long and it straightens my hair lovely. My hair is very light and I always have parts of it flying around somewhere. With the ghd and the straightening spray it holds my hair wonderfully.

Nevertheless, it would be a lie to say it doesn't take practice. The first couple of times I had really troubles clipping my hair safely away, but I got better with time. You don't realise how many hairs you have until you try to style it. *gg*

I've seen videos of hairdressers creating styles with the ghd that only can be described as true art. It's a pleasure to watch them.

One thing I haven't managed so far and probably won't is curling my hair. It's just too damn long. It's definitely not the styler. I've seen women with more than ten years of experience trying to curl my hair and failing..

It seems I just won't be able to get away with that length.. Since I'm planning on cutting my hair anyway, that's not so bad, but it might take some time until this happens.

In order to show you the versatility of this amazing product I'm gonna style some of my friends whose hair isn't that long, creating several styles with it and showing them here.

One can also watch several how-to videos on their ghd youtube page: *click*

So stay tuned for tmy hairstyles posts!

An early christmas present or the Pink Orchid Limited Edition ghd Styler

Hey guys,

Two days ago I got a package which made me jumping around the appartement. I got the Pink Orchid Limited Edition ghd Styler for reviewing.

I contacted ghd about three month ago and asked if I could test one of their stylers. Due to the high demand (which is no surprise) I got on a "waiting list" and they said they might get back to me.

I put all my heart in my blog and do my best, but I gotta say I didn't have much hope, cause I'm still a "small" blog in comparison to other blogs who have thousands of followers. All the more I couldn't believe it when they wrote me a few days ago and asked if I'm still interested in testing the ghd styler.

Of course I sayed yes and here are photos of this beauty:

Even the tape is awesome:

Let's go:

I also got several styling products, a pile of instruction booklets and three dvds which explain how to achieve certain hairstyles:

I'm sooooo grateful. I'm gonna take a lot of time to really thoroughly review it. :-) In addition, I'm gonna book a styling appointment at a hairdresser in Vienna who works with ghd stylers to get some further skills. :-) I maybe get my new haircut there as well.

Thanks again to ghd and their trust in my work.

Love,
Guinevere

Limited Edition Pink Orchid GHD Styler

Just got infos about the new limited edition Pink Orchid GHD styler and gosh it looks pretty...

Beautiful, right???

A closer look at the styler. It's the new generation with lovely looking purple styling tiles:

and of course a picture of the gorgeous clutch:

Not only is this set amazing, it's for a good cause as well. 10€ of each sold set will be donated to a german breast cancer institution.

It retails for 199€, but at the moment there's a birthday special on the official ghd homepage and all sets are available for 179€. It's still a lot, but if you wanted to get one, get it now.

I wish I could afford this beauty, the previous ghd sets weren't really my style, but this one is divine. Maybe one day..

Guinevere
