Review: Urban Decay Eyelash Curler "Revolution"

I read about the "Revolution" eyelash curler quite a while ago and was curious enough to buy it when we were in Edinburgh.

The unique thing about it is the fact that there are no bars at the end. No generic cage that can pinch your skin:

Something I always hated and even if I try to be extra-careful it still happens sometimes. Especially, on clients curling lashes can be incredibly tricky. A main reason for me to purchase it.

The first time I used it I was really disappointed, mainly because it was such a weird feeling.. You press the curler directly on your lid, close to the lashes and curl. Just strange, normally it feels different.

Nevertheless, I used it again and again and started loving it. I curl the inner lashes first and then the outer lashes. You can really get to the roots of your lashes without pinching anything. It's also great for curling lashes on customers!

For the effect, it's really good, but not better than the result I get with my shu uemura lash curler. On the other hand, I tend to pinch myself with that one sometimes..

A comparison:

uncurled lashes

left side: Urban Decay - right side: Shu Uemura

Looks quite similar, right? I didn't use mascara on the pictures, these are my natural lashes.

Another thing I should mention: It's no longer available.. I guess they weren't selling well, but I still wanted to review them.

My final opinion: I think the UD lash curler does have advantages and makes curling lashes much easier for those who usually shy away from it. Nonetheless, if you are happy with your lash curler and don't tend to pinch your skin, these are not necessary.

I hope this was still interesting to read, even though they are no longer available. *g*

Love,
Guinevere
