Review: Maybelline Rocket Volum'Express Mascara

Hey lovelies,

How's your week? I can't week til it's weekend.. No work in the morning, but let's focus on something pleasant.

I got this two weeks ago and used it several times, so here are my thoughts. Before we begin, let's take a closer look:

I really like the brush, good size and shape:

Now some swatches. My lashes without anything on:

Close up time:

Lovely, right?

I immediately fell in love, it looked like a perfect mascara. No clumping, separated the lashes wonderfully and everything.

Unfortunately, there is one huge problem with this: it transfers on the under-eye area. After a couple of hours I had black/grey imprints. Every time I used it! I tried it with different foundations, concealers and without anything on. It happened every time!

I always thought it's my skin's fault that mascaras transfer, but it's not. It definitely is the product, cause this doesn't happen with all the mascaras I tried.

So sadly, I can't recommend it. I would love to, but it doesn't work, at least on my skin. I hate these imprints, it makes your face look dirty.

Love,
Guinevere

Review: Maybelline Colorama Lipgloss

I got this a little while ago and now it's time to share my thoughts.

I got the shade 160 and here it is:

As you can see it's a subtle shade. Here some swatches:

Clos Up:

It felt really nice on my lips. It's non-sticky which is always a plus and smells nice, kinda fruity.

The sad thing is that after a good hour only this was left:

Just some glitter particles. Not really any gloss left..

If you don't mind re-applying regularly this is a nice product. I don't like that, so sadly this is a pass for me. Maybe other colours deliver better results, but I doubt it.

Love,
Guinevere
Product was sent for review. Thanks :-)

Catrice - Dirty Berry

I saw this in my DM and immediately fell in love.

Apparently, this is already a famous shade. I didn't know that, but I understand why.

That underlying silver/gold sparkle is so lovely! If you like it you should be quick, sadly, Catrice is discontinuing it.. No idea why..

Guinevere

Threading!

Hello lovelies,

One thing I learned during my constant visits to the UK is that they are ahead of us when it comes to trends. The first time I saw the pink I-Pod I fell in love with, was in London about two years before they got really famous in Austria.

I have the impression threading is already a big deal in the US and now it reached the UK. Every Superdrug offers threading and you can get it done at each mall.

I was super excited, but when I saw a woman get her eyebrows done and her face turned red with pain I got cold feet. On the third day of four I decided to go for it. The whole thing was done in three minutes and definitely not as painful as I expected.

Here are the before and after pictures:

Before:

After:

A short clip. I don't look very flattering, but well, you'll survive:

What do you think? I was quite happy with the result, especially, on the area above my brows. Nevertheless, I think my usual routine of tweezing and shaving of the blonde hairs is the best for me.

Edinburgh's American Candystore

It's always exciting to see things we don't have and that goes for candy as well. So, we were quite excited when we saw a store full of American candy. It was incredible. Take a look:

It's incredible what you get in the USA. How colourfull and fun looking. The Wonka chocolate!

But I gotta say, as cool as it looks, I'm not surprised that so many people struggle with their weight over there.. All that sugar and fat, it's crazy..

Dress Shopping

Hey girls,

This is really exciting, at least it was for me. This was the first time it got real - I'm getting married! A crazy feeling..

I'm now gonna show you a selection of dresses I tried and loved. My final dress is already purchased and one of these you see. Of course I can't tell you which it is, but here we go anyway. I hope you enjoy. For once I'm happy my fiancé doesn't read my blog. *gg*

I didn't wear make up and of course my hair wasn't done. It will be open at my wedding day and I still wanna lose some weight, but as for now, that's the way they look.

Dress 6:

What do you think?

I thought they all looked gorgeous in their own way and I might have chosen differently if money wasn't an issue.

I adored Dress 3, but for 2600€ it was definitely out of my reach. In general, I have the feeling as soon as you mention "wedding" everything costs twice as much. Like the wedding cake for example.. For what we would like to have you need to pay about 500€..

We already have the rings, which we'll order tomorrow and where we will get married - in Retz of course! I wanted a tiny wedding, but by now we have 60 guests and I'm positive it will stay that way.

So, what do you think? What is your favorite??

Love,
Guinevere

Edinburgh

Yep, once again, I was in Edinburgh. *g* I can't stay away and every time I arrive, I'm filled with happiness.

I have a ton of posts connected to it, so stay tuned, but the next post is dedicated to something totally different..
