Manhattan Community Colours

Retz is really keeping me away from my computer.. We have the slowest internet connection ever, but hopefully this is over in two weeks. I'll blog you to death from that moment on. *gg*

But now, let's look at my haul. :-) The nail polish LE "Community Colours" has been out for a few weeks now and there are a some really beautiful shades. I bought these:

New Nail Polish Display!!

I know everyone thinks their dad is the best in the world, but mine wins hands-down! With the growing of my collection my old nail polish displays got too small, so I asked my dad if he could make me a bigger one.

He is incredibly talented when it comes to architecture and building things. I expected something simple and would have been totally happy with it, but he made a masterpiece out of it. I mean look at it:

It's incredible. I love it!

Since we sorta moved and are mostly in Retz now, I want it to be there and not in Vienna where it's right now. It's huge, so it's not so easy to move it, but I'll show you pictures as soon as it hangs on the wall and is full of nail polishes.

What do you think? Isn't it the most awesome nail polish display you've ever seen? Thank you dad, you're the best!!

My busy Week..

It feels like I haven't posted anything in weeks, well, 5 days. Sorry for my absence, but this week was so crazy and I have a got reason..

I got my first teaching position! To call it sudden is an understatement. *gg* They contacted me and asked if I might be interested in team-teaching since they are horribly understaffed. A serious problem in Austria right now.

Long story short, I started on Monday and am still alive. :-) Time will tell if it is the right thing for me, right now I'm still overwhelmed by all the new impressions. Something I can already tell -  so far the "education" I got at university was completely useless. It's ridiculous.

I'll try to find time to start posting daily again. I miss the blog and you guys.

Maybelline Jade Big Eyes Eyeshadow Swatches & Review

The Big Eyes collection by Maybelline Jade was released a few weeks ago and there are lovely colour combos. :) 

Maybelline sent me one of them and without wanting to seem ungrateful, I'm really not, I think I got the most boring one. *gg* I just love colours that are more intense and there are some in that collection. 

This is nr. 3 and called "Turquoise".

The colours have good colour pay off and the texture is really smooth, almost like a cream product. :)

I really like them and gonna do a look with it soon. :-) If I could choose one of them I'd definitely go for the green set, but all of them include beautiful colours.

Maybelline Color Show Vintage Leather Swatches & Review

Lately, Maybelline's Color Show polishes became one of my favorite brands besides essie.

This two-piece LE will be released in October. It's finish is described as a raw leather effect. I was quite curious. :)

Let's take a look "Turquoise Temptation":

The flecks in the polish look really pretty, at least in the bottle.

Well, and here it is. In the end, it's just a matte polish. Nothing more and as we all know matte isn't exactly unique anymore. In addition, the flecks totally vanish in the finish, which is kinda sad.

A topcoat changes it a bit. I like it much more with a shiny finish.

The flecks get more prominent, but nothing exciting. I really only saw it when I removed the polish or at least I tried it..

All in all, this polish won't get a recommendation from me. I truly like the Color Show polishes, but this one is neither exceptionally pretty nor unique.

MAC Indulge Nail Polish Swatches

One of the new MAC collections is "Indulge", a pretty mix of colours and while I didn't have time to swatch the other products (yet), I do have the nail polishes for you!

Screening Room, Rebel, Magnificent Feast, Sinfully Sweet

Sadly, those two are on the sheerer side.. What you see are three coats and you can still see through the tips, a bit disappointing..

The frost polishes are way better. Those are two coats and especially the gold one, magnificent feast, is soooo beautiful. I still think about buying it, but I have so many polishes already...

If I find time, I'll swatch the other products as well, but there are gorgeous swatches on Temptalia anyway. :)

Pet or Child?

Today, I have some funny pics for you.

I love my pets and I'm definitely one of those owners who could never image their dog living just outside like some dogs still do and all of them are part of our family, but I think I'm still able to draw a line between a pet and a human being.

The last time we went to a Megazoo store I wasn't sure all owner can *g*:

My absolute favorite - the Tchou Tchou train for cheap 300€.

I'm all for making your home cozy for your pets, but that definitely goes too far *gg* A week ago I saw a dog in a dog stroller.. Poor dog, he has legs for a reason.

We bought a new cat tree online (much more affordable than in stores) and it's pretty AND functional without making us look like we're crazy. *g* Our cats love it:

DM Haul: Alverde, Balea, CD

Some items went in my basket the last time I visited my favorite DM store, let's share that haul. 

• Balea's new shower gel, which smells like cherries. :) 
• Ever since I did my big research/review project on aluminium chloride free deodorants I'm kind obsessed with them. *g* I only had roll-ons so far, so it was time for some change.
• I already posted about the Alverde contouring/bronzing powdes from their new collection African Soul here and after thinking about it for a while I decided to get the earth powder. 

This is the perfect colour for contouring!

MAC's Pink Pepper - Look & Swatches

I wanted this shadow for weeks and in the end my husband bought it for me. Thanks honey! It's part of the Pressed Pigments Fall collection and one of the limited edition shades. Lets look at that beauty:

It is perfect to give you that fresh wash of colour. I love it.

It was definitely worth getting! Did you buy any of the new pressed pigments?
